What is an add-on or add on domain?
- Addon domains allow you to control multiple domains from a single account. An addon domain links a new domain name to a directory in your account and then stores its files in that directory. Meaning you can add additional domains up to the specific amount in your plan. This is defined in your subscription plan
Changing the nameservers
- Before you begin we recommend that you buy the domain from us, transfer the domain to us or change your existing domain's nameserver from another domain's registrar to us. Please follow the link here to change the nameserver of your domain to Akoalgtech from another provider
- Only those domains which are pointed to AkolagTech's nameservers can be added to your hosting account, otherwise, you will get the error message when adding an addon domain: "That you cannot add the domain names"
Steps in adding new domain as an Addon Domain
- Please follow the tutorial on how to access AkolagTech Cpanel by clicking here
- Under Cpanel page navigate to Domain - cPanel >> Home >> Domains >> Addon Domains)
- Click on "Addon Domains" Click below "DOMAINS" Menu
- Enter the new domain name as stated in the form on "Create and Addon Domain" page
- Enter the New Domain Name: domain name you wish to add as an addon
- Note: When adding the addon domain, there are no extra spaces before and after it, this is the most common error due to not a valid domain error.
- When you enter the domain name, cPanel automatically populates the Subdomain and Document Root text boxes.
- To create multiple addon domains with the same username and different extensions (for example,
example.com
andexample.net
), manually enter a unique username in the Subdomain text box. -
To choose a document root other than the automatically populated value, manually enter the directory name in the Document Root text box.
-
Click Add Domain.
To add files to the addon domain’s home directory, click File Manager.
When you create an addon domain in the cPanel interface, the system automatically creates a subdomain. To alter or delete the subdomain after you create it, you may alter or delete the information that the addon domain's website displays.
