How to set up cPanel email on my phone

Email client - how to access your cPanel email from mobile devices (Android, iPhone) and desktop?

You should receive an email about your mail client manual settings similar to this "Email configuration settings for "username@example.com.ng".

  • Username: username@example.com.ng
  • Password:         Use the email account’s password.
  • Incoming Server:         mail.example.com.ng
  • IMAP Port:                       993 POP3 Port: 995
  • Outgoing Server:         mail.example.com.ng
  • SMTP Port: 465

NOTE: The two mail servers both incoming server and outgoing server should be similar to: "mail.example.com.ng" , remember to add "mail." in front of your domain for the server

From your phone device, follow the step below

From  your phone's email client app, either from your Google Android or iPhone IOS device

From your email's client, click on "Other" from the lists of email providers

  2. Then click on "Add accounts"
  3.  
  4.  Then click on Personal(POP3) option from the list of "What type of account is this?"
  5.  
  6. Then enter your username, password and outgoing, and incoming server settings 
  7.  
  8. If you successfully log in, your email is all set and accessible from your phone
  9.

Notes:

  • POP3 does not coordinate with the server. Messages marked as read/deleted/replied to in the mail application will not show up as such on the server. This means that future mail downloads with POP3 will show all messages as unread.
  • IMAP email access coordinates between the server and your mail application. Messages that have been read/deleted/replied to will show up as such, both on the server and in the mail application.
  • Outgoing mail is sent using SMTP.
  • We recommend using POP3 over SSL/TLS or IMAP over SSL/TLS since they provide increased security for your interactions with the remote mail server.
