FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO SETUP A REDIRECT, ALIAS, PARKED DOMAIN FROM YOUR CPANEL

1. What is a parked domain or domain alias and how do I redirect my domain to another domain?

• Parked or aliases domain are domains that you own and would like to point or redirect domain A to domain B
• Instead, domain points to the contents of another domain or subdomain on your account
• This is useful, for example, to hold a domain that you will later sell or to redirect traffic to another domain
• The reason why you will choose alias is to simplify content redirection
• For example, you have the following domains called abc.com and abc.net. abc.com is your primary domain with contents, and you want your website's visitors that visit abc.net to be redirected to abc.com
  abc.net ==> abc.com

In other words: Domain alias make your website available from another domain name. For example, you can make www.example.net and www.example.org show content from www.example.com. For more information, read the documentation. 

Note: You must register a parked or alias domain name before visitors can access it, this is same as having a second domain as an alias

2. Changing the nameservers - this step can be skipped if you already registered your domain with us

• Before you begin we recommend that you buy the domain from us, transfer the domain to us, or change your existing domain's nameserver from another domain's registrar to us.
• Please follow the link here to change the nameserver of your domain to Akoalgtech from another provider  
• Only those domains which are pointed to AkolagTech's nameservers can be added to your hosting account, otherwise, you will get the error message when adding an addon or alias domain: "That you cannot add the domain names"

3. THIS STEP IS VERY IMPORTANT, you must point the domain to your account’s nameservers:

• Do this step first before your parked or alias domain can be redirected from one website to the other
• Note: To add a domain parked or alias domain, You must add the domain first as an addon domain to get an IP address.
• Enter the domain name in the text box and click Add Domain.

4. Step to create a parked or alias domain

• Make sure you do step 3 before doing this step
• To add a parked or alias domain, perform the following steps:

• Under cPanel page navigate to Domain - cPanel >> Home >> Domains >> Alias)
• Click on "Aliases" Click below "DOMAINS" Menu
• 
• Enter the new domain name as stated in the form on "Create a New Alias  page"

• Then click the "Add Domain" button

5. Next is to enable the DOMAIN ALIAS redirection, so this domain can point to another domain

To enable or disable redirection of a domain alias, perform the following steps:

1. Navigate back to cPanel Menu, cPanel >> Home >> Domains >> Addon Domain
2. Scroll down to the bottom under "Modify Addon Domain" section
3. Click "Manage Redirection" for the domain alias that you wish to manage from the current redirects lists
4. To redirect the domain, enter the link to which you wish to redirect the domain alias in the text box
5. Click Save.
6. To disable the redirection, click Disable Redirection.

6. To remove the domain packed or alias domain in cPanel

1. Navigate back to cPanel Menu, cPanel >> Home >> Domains >> Addon Domain
2. Scroll down to the bottom under "Modify Addon Domain" section
3. To delete a Domain Alias In the “Actions” column, click the “Remove” link or icon

Note: When you create a parked domain, addon domain, subdomain, or main domain, the system will attempt to automatically secure that domain with the best-available existing certificate. If no certificate exists, the system will generate a self-signed certificate to secure the new domain.

If AutoSSL is enabled for the account that owns the new domain, the system will add a request for an AutoSSL certificate to secure the new domain and install it when available.
